St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Fruit Plate

March 5, 2023 Kylie Tuosto

St. Patrick's Day is a fun holiday for kids and adults alike, and what better way to celebrate than with a colorful and delicious rainbow fruit platter? This easy and festive recipe is perfect for a St. Patrick's Day party, classroom treat, or even just a fun snack for the kids.

One of the reasons why St. Patrick's Day is such a fun holiday for kids is because of the traditional Irish folklore associated with it. According to legend, St. Patrick used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the Irish people. The shamrock has become a symbol of Ireland and is often worn on St. Patrick's Day as a symbol of Irish heritage.

To make a rainbow fruit platter, you will need the following supplies:

  • An oblong platter or tray

  • A variety of colorful fruits (such as strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, oranges, etc.)

  • Marshmallows

  • Toothpicks or skewers

  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Arrange the fruits on the platter in the shape of a rainbow, using different fruits for each color of the rainbow.

  2. Cut the marshmallows in half using the scissors and skewer them onto the toothpicks or skewers.

  3. Arrange the marshmallow skewers on the platter to create clouds at the end of the rainbow.

  4. Serve and enjoy!

This rainbow fruit platter is not only delicious and colorful, but it also serves as a fun and interactive way to teach children about the colors of the rainbow and the history of St. Patrick's Day. You can also encourage children to try different fruits that they may not have tried before.

Overall, the Rainbow Fruit Platter is a perfect treat for St. Patrick's Day, it's easy to make, healthy, colorful and fun. This is a great opportunity to include children in the preparation process and teach them about the holiday's history and symbols. So, go ahead and add this recipe to your St. Patrick's Day celebration plans, and enjoy the taste of a rainbow!
